Welcome to the official web site of Wayne Township, Clermont County Ohio. Our township is located in the northeast corner of Clermont County. We are bordered by Goshen Township to our west, Jackson Township to our south and Stonelick Township. Our northern border is Warren County, and to our East is Brown County. The township is approximately 33 square miles. Within our borders are the villages of Newtonsville and Edenton. Newtonsville is a small village located in the southern portion of the township. Edenton is an unincorporated village in the northern portion of the township. Also with in our borders is Stonelick Lake State Park.
Wayne township was officially established on March 15th, 1819. It was named for General Anthony Wayne who had a camp at the intersection of SR 133 and SR 131. The camp was known as Slab’s Camp. There is a marker at the intersection of Park Rd. and SR 133 that marks the grave of two unknown solder’s of General Wayne’s that died while at the camp. |
